Meet Sebastian

As the Senior Director of Products at montratec, Sebastian M. has seen the material handling industry evolve throughout the years and is excited for the innovations yet to come. Sebastian started his career at montratec in 2004 as an Electronics Trainee and moved through numerous positions from programming and sales to product management. While his job title has changed in the last 20 years, he has always enjoyed combining innovative decision-making with future-oriented thinking to develop unique and creative solutions that solve customers’ production problems.

Sebastian enjoys being a part of an industry-leading manufacturer like montratec, because it gives him the unique opportunity to see a piece of machinery develop from a rough concept to a running system in a production line. While every project is built on the montrac® platform, each system is unique to the customer’s needs and combines mechanical, electrical, and programmed components to offer a custom solution designed for a specific application. “Our customers are looking for project-based solutions,” not out-of-the-box equipment, and are interested not only in “buying our product, but also our industry knowledge and expertise.” It is this expertise that facilitates strong working relationships with customers and allows Sebastian and his team to create complete material handling systems that interlink processes and improve the efficiency of their customers’ operations.

While reflecting on his time in the manufacturing industry, Sebastian noted one area in particular that made him proud to be a part of montratec: the commitment to “deliver on our promises to customers.” This was more relevant than ever during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic when market difficulties were felt by manufacturers across numerous sectors. Like the rest of the industry, montratec experienced some of the pain of extended supply chains and material shortages, but it only motivated the entire company to double down on their efforts to maintain their lead times. A specially appointed task force within the company ensured that material handling delays were not extended to delays in delivery times for customers. This consistency during a particularly difficult period across global markets has only reinforced montratec’s commitment to be a lifelong, reliable partner for customers.
